Description: This listing is for an Antique 19 C Floral Garden farahan Sarouk Oriental Rug Carpet with a Navy Blue Ground and Jewel Tones measuring about 24 1/2 inches by 49 inches or about 2x4 feet, weighing 6.5 lbs net. It has been Soak Washed by a Textile Conservator multiple times , last on 6/2/22 , it is clean enough to touch face with. Both ends have been secured with pocket fringes , one with end only and the other with very short fringes addition. This will keep the ends intact . It could use salvage restoration by filling worn salvage spots . The base strings for salvage are there and intact. overall low pile with no bald spots. Knot count of about 224 per square inches , which is exceptional grade for a weaving done on cotton foundation. Cotton warp abd Weft and wool pile. A rug of this class in excellent condition wholesaled close to $2000 pre 1995. A rather rare rug and a practical one at that. It will be kept and shipped rolled . I usually post many more images on my listing than the 12 listed on eBay gallery which only will be visible to individuals on classic eBay site ( that would be when item is viewed on a computer) .
