Angel of Spring (L&L 23), ©1993, Cross Stitch Chart w/ Linen, Threads, and Beads

Description: Acquired in a very generous donation; proceeds of this sale will benefit my chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America (EGA). Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum's beautiful Angel of Spring, a cross-stitch design published by Lavender & Lace (L&L) in 1993. The blonde angel has white wings and is wearing a white gown with billowing sleeves, a grey-green over-dress, and a long, loose pink scarf. Her dress is accentuated with pink roses as a neckline garland and at the scalloped hemline. Three little bluebirds fly along the edge of the skirt. She floats through the air playing a type of lute. This listing includes Marilyn's recommended 32-count linen in Wichelt's Twilight Blue color, measuring 27" x 18". The stitch count is 230 stitches wide by 270 stitches high. Stitched over-two, this results in 16 stitches per inch. The design area is a scant 14 1/2" wide x 16 7/8" high. Wichelt's website compares the color of this fabric to DMC 169; please see the photo. The chart itself is in very good used condition for its 31-year age. It is printed on one sheet of paper. The previous owner made pencil check-marks to indicate the cotton embroidery threads and glass beads that had been acquired. Other than those check-marks, I saw no other writing, tears, or stains on the chart. Thirty-eight (38) colors of DMC cotton threads are called for; with the exception of only one, color #758, all are included, including four skeins of 3756 and two skeins of B5200, a bright white. Please see all the photos. The chart also calls for one spool of DMC's golden metallic thread 284Z. Some softer substitutes for that fiber are Rainbow Gallery's Petite Treasure Braid in color 01, OR Kreinik Braid, color 028, in either size 8, Fine, or 4, Very Fine. Five colors of Mill Hill's glass seed beads are called for, but only three packets are included. From my tobacco-free and pet-free home.
