Description: A hand signed envelope featuring the 100 yr anniversary of the Pony Express by Astronaut Alan B Shepard Jr. Envelope was cancelled at the New Concord, OH post office of which the cancellation stamp states "Home Of Astronaut Glenn" on March 12th, 1962. Shepard was one of the first original 7 astronauts chosen to be a part of the Mercury Program in 1959. He was the 1st US Astronaut in space with a 15 minute sub orbital flight 23 days after Cosmonaut Yuri Gragarin. He was also the first man to golf on the moon.
