Description: 2000 Painted Cast Iron Skillet Frying Pan OLD GUERRERO CHURCH MEXICO TEXAS by DAVID MERTENS A nice 10-1/2 inch diameter painted skillet by this folk artist of Zapata Texas, depicting the old church in the nearby town of Guerrero Viejo (Old Guerrero) on the Mexico-Texas border, sometimes below the waters of Falcon Lake, depending on water depth. The painted portion is covered by a thick coating of clear epoxy or eurethane that protexts the image, making in suitable to hang on your porch. Condition is fine, with light rust and uneven seasoning, as originally sold by the artist. Signed and dated on the artwork.
