It has large, 10-12 inch long fuzzy leaves and clusters of conspicuously scattered white to pale purple orbicular fruit born in late summer-autumn, affording an unusual display. This Beautyberry is a large deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub native to Taiwan and little known outside the country. It is a striking novelty shrub for mild climate areas and should be planted in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny or semi-shady location. great for bonsai or small gardens.
