1971 short paid Germany-Israel surface mail cover taxed postage dues

Description: 1971 incoming German taxed mail: 1 July 1971 postmarked surface mailed window cover on imprinted municipal postal stationary sent from finance department in STUTTGART to TEL AVIV, short paid at 30pf & marked for tax using the taxe fraction method instituted as of 1 Jan 1966 by the Universal Postal Union's (UPU) Vienna convention, of the sending postal administration indicating the amount owed as twice the deficiency in the numerator and the country's base letter surface postage rate in the denominator - here the cover was deficient 30pf for the 60pf rate, and charged 60pf as the tax. In Israel this ratio was multiplied by the country's period base letter surface postage rate of 40 agorot, yielding a calculated postage dues tax amount of 40ag - rounded to the nearest available denominated postage stamps & becoming a 36ag tax charge, paid on 19 July at TEL AVIV-49 (head post office) using 2x 0.18L 1969 2nd Town Emblems stamps (Ba #474); opened gently at back. --- Most of our merchandise ships out from Israel | orders are combined | additional items are charged 75c: DOMESTIC services available are Registered mail (default) and courier mail.
