1970's Lee Sands Lion Head Inlay Pendant Necklace Book Piece Gemstones Lucite

Description: OFFERED ... a vintage 1970's lion head pendant necklace, a book piece pictured in Lillian Baker's book on plastic jewelry of the 20th Century; unsigned. An artful statement piece that really pops with intricate design and multicolors. The large lion head pendant is laminated using plastics and black lucite; mother-of-pearl eyes. The finish is smooth with high gloss. Twisted triple strand of asymmetrical pulverized gemstone beads (two multi-color, one black) hold the pendant. Silver tone scalloped metal caps at end of strand, 1 1/2" from clasp. The pendant measures 3 3/8" in width; 3 1/2" in length. The necklace measures 24" in length including hook clasp. A collector's piece. It remains in very good pre-owned vintage condition. FYI: Received following information from an ebay member a couple of months ago: "The inlays and beads on this necklace are actually both genuine apple and tiger coral. Not pulverized gemstones." "These were made by Lee Sands." "Not all Lee Sands pieces were signed.The earlier pieces weren't. I have been selling jewelry for over 35 years. Like I said, this is coral inlay (two types of sponge coral to be exact) and resin with mother of pearl eyes. You got the eyes right. Just trying to help out as a fellow seller, as your title and description are completely wrong. If you do a search on ebay of apple coral or tiger coral you will see some other pieces. And probably another one of these lion necklaces. So many sellers list this incorrectly. good luck"
