1954 Omega Constellation Arrowhead Pie Pan BLACK GILT Ref.2782 2782-5

Description: Up for sale is this stunning 1954 Omega Constellation featuring a Black gilt pie pan dial with arrowhead markers. Black gilt dials are very rare and were often special order pieces. Additionally, arrowhead piepan dials are among the most sought after vintage constellations and have become harder to find. This one is nicely preserved in all ways that matter with clean printing and a preserved case. There is some degradation to the top laquer layer on the dial, which is very common with these dials, expecially those that are gilt, but it actually looks rather cool in person and gives the watch an almost "granite" or black "marble" effect. I haven't attempted to clean or mess with the dial. Otherwise, the only other notable wear that I see is on the original crown, which has lost some of the plating. However, these do pop up for sale often and it could easily be replaced. The movement runs well and keeps time with about +/- 30 seconds per day. The watch has not been serviced in the time that I had it, so a service s recommended. I'm sad to see this one go, but my loss is your gain.
