Description: Enjoy this Antique 1920s Peter Rabbit Greeting Candy Tin from Tindeco. The Peter Rabbit family is busily decorating Easter eggs. Exquisitely detailed the rabbits have names! The character of Peter Rabbit is from "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" by Beatrix Potter. On this tin, Peter is all grown up and surrounded by his own wife and children, the second generation of Peter Rabbit! Get in on all the action: watch Jerry (photo #5) push a wheelbarrow full of eggs. Then Jimmy (photo #6) brings another basket of eggs while Teddie rolls his egg. Caleb (photo #6) holds up an egg for Peter Rabbit to decorate. Baby Girl hangs out with Peter Rabbit while we catch a rare glimpse of Mrs. Peter Rabbit (photo #4) behind three eggs. Betsy helps Benny with a large egg. Bill and Bobby are teamed up to carry a big egg and Baby Boy is in the wagon pulled by Jerry. I could picture this being in my grandparents' house. This canister portrays the American work ethic of "everybody does their part, doing their best effort no matter how small." his rare 1920s candy tin could be a Harrison Cady, but no artist is directly attributed to the Tindeco embossed box. Well loved, the tin has survived 100 Easters with its experience reflected in the look. The lid is faded (photo #7), but graphics on the remainder are good. The canister has rusting around the rims with some patina on both the outside bottom and inside. The handle is gone, but it closes easily and hinges function well. Obviously a display only box, which measures 2.25" tall by 4.5" wide by 2.5", it is a real gem! Very well made of thick tin, the canister may well survive another hundred years. So if you have a big family, like the Rabbits, or even if you don't, Easter is the time to celebrate! Happy Easter!
