1917 Singer Hand Crank Sewing Machine Treadle Head 115 Wings Tested

Description: 1917 Singer hand crank sewing machine model 115 in a custom made base made from antique tiger oak wood. Serial number G5574294. This machine has a full rotating hook with the Wings decoration scheme. This machine has the important 115 bobbin case. This bobbin case is very important as it is now very hard to get the original 115 bobbin case. The bobbins are available as the Singer 20U bobbins are the same. This machine started life as a treadle head but has been retrofitted to hand crank with a new hand crank. This hand crank runs the machine perfectly and is attached to the existing bolt hole put there by Singer in 1917. This was forward thinking as Singer knew that some people would prefer a hand crank! This 115 is a fantastic machine and this one's runs,whisper quiet with No friction at all. You can turn the hand crank with no effort with just your little finger and being a full rotary hook it sews a perfect stitch. The 115 is certainly one of the best machines ever made and probably the smoothest and,quietest. If you are looking for a machine to sew with this one sews beautifully. We threaded it up and sewed the beautiful stitches you see in my photos,stitch length knob adjusts stitch length perfectly. Tensioner operating excellently, bobbin winder also rotating smoothly with a brand new tire. All functions were tested and work perfectly. Mechanically this machine is A+ and runs superbly. Cosmetically there is some wear to the decorations sewing side as seen in my photos. A lot of the Wings decals are in excellent condition and nice and bright. Some wear to the bed of the machine.
