Description: [Nebraska; Railroads] 1872 (Sep) draft of Union Pacific Railroad Co., Omaha, Neb., nice train vignette at left, drawn on General Ticket Agent, Chicago, Burlington & Quincy R.R. Co., for “July Tkt. Balance,” stamped with 2¢ USIR (R15c) tied by clear “CASHIER’S OFFICE U.P.R.R.” blue oval datestamp (Tolman U-2-i). Glued to CB&Q form, bit irregular left edge. Early Nebraska stamped documents are rare, and railroad items virtually nonexistent. Wonderful strike of a rare cancel, and great item from this grandaddy of Western roads, just three years after its famous transcontinental linkage with the Central Pacific.
