Description: The Works of the Rev. Daniel M'Calla, D. D., Pastor of the Independent or Congregational Church, in the Parish of Christ's Church, South-Carolina. 2 volumes By Daniel M'Calla (McCalla) Published: John Hoff, Charleston, SC, 1810. FIRST EDITION. 2 volumes; xx, 3-426pp; iv, 5-444pp. Brown calf leather bindings. Significant damage to both volumes. Last 50 pages of volume 1 detached. Leather worn and rubbed. Rear hinge is broken and board is loosely attached. No spine title label on volume 1. Volume 2 front board is detached and right front end sheet is glued down. Leather spine label is worn and chipped. Moderate toning and foxing to contents. Not Ex-Lib. Very RARE South Carolina imprint. OCLC lists 4 copies. Born in Neshaminy, PA (near Philadelphia), McCalla apparently aided the American cause as a chaplain during the Revolution and was pro-Jefferson. I've done my best to describe the books, but if you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.
