Retains separate title pages and Royal privilege leaves for each volume. Frontis portrait engraving of the bust of Homer is trimmed and mounted on a a leaf at front. Volume I with eclectic pagination; subscriber list and two facing pages of engravings are placed between K2 and L1 of the separately paginated section "Observations on the First Book." Folding map present in both Volume I and Volume II. Last several pages, including the errata leaf for Volume II are trimmed and mounted on blank leaves. Shallow loss to text the bottom edge of page 305. This example appears to be the nearly finished work of a professional binder. A title label lost from the spine and rear endpapers not applied. Light worming in the gutter of the last 16 or so pages. Mild tea colored damp staining bottom edge of the first 35 or so leaves. Good Plus or better
