Description: NGC "2000" $1 Sacagawea dollar aluminum feeder finger. Made for the U.S. Mint by "Arrow", a company apparently contracted by the U.S. Mint to manufacture these parts, which is why the word "Arrow" is on the feeder finger's base. The feeder finger is in superb condition, and presumably the "Jan 2000" on the feeder finger is the date intended for use or it is the date of manufacture. Of note, the feeder finger's "tips" match the color, appearance, and shape of the known mint error state quarter and dollar coin's that are found "struck on" these torn off pieces of feeder finger tip. The dark outer patina and the bright inner aluminum is how most all known struck example appear--which matches with this feeder finger. This is a superb item to accompany a collection of mint errors, especially an example of a struck aluminum feeder finger fragment! There are a very few of these known. We are only aware of this and one other example with certainty. Very scarce.
